10 days spent lying on the sand, snorkelling the reefs and hiking through the jungle on Fiji’s Vanua Levu Island at Koro Sun Resort.
My Time In Fiji
By far the most relaxing trip I’ve ever had, I spent my days lounging by the pool, gliding through the crystal clear water and filling up on delicious food. Located on Vanua Levu Island, the town of Savusavu is a glimpse into the traditional island life of Fiji. Although a fairly large island, it feels far more authentic than others I have visited, and a trip into town will yield a raw experience with a rustic markets and a small strip of shops. Away from town you will find the classic aqua blue waters and sandy shores Fiji is famous for.
Most of my time was spent at Koro Sun Resort, just a short cab or bus ride from town. Filled with extremely friendly staff and a beautiful infinity pool/bar it’s hard not to fall in love with this place.
Whether I was snorkelling with the seemingly infinite number of fish or playing an intense match of Beach Volleyball with all the staff, there was always something to be doing if you got bored of lying in the sun or floating with a drink in hand across the pool (Fiji Premium is bloody amazing). When it was time to leave I felt at home at this oasis and would miss the constant greetings of “Bula!” (hello in Fijian) and watching the sunset every night from the ocean side pool.
