Vietnam Visa On arrival

How to get your Vietnam Visa – Guide to Visa on arrival Vietnam.

Although you can get your Visa for Vietnam though an embassy, this is far more expensive than organising a VOA (Visa On Arrival). Most people who go through the embassy do so because the system of getting a Visa on arrival seems a bit dodgy. I thought the same thing. However after myself and thousands of others successfully getting a Visa through these methods, I am confident that these steps will help you get it sorted.

First thing you need to do is get an Approval letter from one of the many sites online. I used Vietnamvisapro and would highly recommend them as I received mine promptly and without any troubles. To get this letter you have to decide how long you need the visa for. Most common are the 1 and 3 month visas. I needed to enter Vietnam multiple times as I went across to Cambodia and then made my way back. Because of this I needed a multiple entry visa. If you need to enter Vietnam multiple times you must purchase this option. So, a checklist. Another thing to think about is the exact amount of time you will be in the country. Your visa must be active when you fly out, so ensure that if you think you may be there for longer than 30 days, you purchase the 3 month option.

  1. Choose length of Visa (1 or 3 month)
  2. Choose entry type (single or multiple)
  3. Fill out the visa form required, ensuring that all dates are correct. (I’d suggest allowing an extra day before you arrive and multiple after your date of departure just to allow for any errors)
  4. Confirm and pay (Price list below)
  5. Receive your visa approval letter (check all inbox and spam folders)
  6. Present your visa approval letter, passport, 2 passport photos, exit and entry forms (provided in email with approval letter) and the stamping fee (MUST HAVE IN USD CASH) to the international airport of arrival.

Once you arrive at the Visa on arrival counter after landing, you will be required to hand in your completed entry and exit form (which can be found on the vietnamvisapro website or in the email with your approval letter). Ensure you fill all of this out to avoid having to wait longer in line. Having a couple of printed passport photos from back home is definitely a good idea as it will speed up the whole process and you’ll avoid any extra fees. After all this you will sit and wait for them to call your name. Then be on your way to exploring the wonders Vietnam has to offer.
